Happy New Year!

Happy new year to you all! Finally got some time to sit down and update the blog! Can't believe the last time we wrote something was back in June! But I have no major excuses other than it had been a busy last few months! Even the run up to christmas and new year was busier than usual! With a large nye party booking at a luxury hotel in Oxford!...and a bride hiring some of our sparkling Crystal Trees for her winter wedding!

2011 has flown by! Mainly because it has been busy with over 80 beautiful weddings decorated. We had also slowly built up more interest in our non-floral centrepieces, which are getting popular- especially the Ostrich Feather Centrepieces and trees! Our sister company Green Monkey Events headed up by the wonderful Josie, has also been growing! Last year we added draping and fairy light curtains to our range, which makes the process of hiring out wedding decor even better, as you can just source what you need from the one company! Less hassle the better we say!  Just afew "Shout Outs" from me before I go, firstly to Josie who had done a fantastic job this year- building our networking sites, tweeting and fbooking our latest jobs, and honestly I don't think I could have done it without her! So a big THANK YOU to Josie! You are a star as always!! Josie has been selected out of thousands of entrants to help out for the Olympics this year!...which is very exciting! Slight downside in that I will lose Josie for a few days, but I'm sure we will be fine!!  Definately can't turn down a once in a lifetime opportunity like this!

Also, a great big thank you to my friends Mary and Paul! Who entrusted us with the job of decorating their wedding in September! Mary looked stunning in her wedding dress-picture perfect infact, and I was just so pleased and happy to be able to help and be part of their special day!

And not forgetting a massive thanks to my family for their total support this year! Especially during the extremely manic months! Prepping our orders till 3am in the morning and then getting up at 6am to set up!!  I really don't think we could have carried on in those testing hours!!...without the encouragement, motivation and help from my family! And an extra big hug to my little one, who knows some venues off by heart now I'm sure!!

Springing back to this year! We are so looking forward to decorating some more lovely weddings and events in the next few months! We already have some dates fully booked for this year- especially the summer months! Will make an effort to update the blog more often! I get brides saying they love looking at the pictures of all the venues set up! So will try to add more images, and write less text!!

Wishing you all a happy new year and all the best for 2012!

Vintage Lace Wedding

Sorry for being quiet on here! Have been very busy with various gorgeous weddings we have helped decorate!  We were lucky enough to help with a friend's wedding this June, to create a stunning vintage themed wedding.  The bride wore a gorgeous vintage lace wedding dress, and we helped tie in the theme, with our new Lace Sashes.  These are Ivory and were made specially for us.  They are very delicate, but pretty when combined with the pretty vintage style floral arrangements that were used on the tables!  There were sweet peas, amnesia roses, thyme and rosemary, all beautifully arranged in mismatched tea cups and jugs!   Here are some pictures!  The bride looked amazing as usual!..and best of all, the sun came out and we had our first outdoor wedding ceremony for the year! (So far!) It was just beautiful!  The wedding venue was The Swan Hotel in Bibury, which is just perfect for a english country garden wedding party.
Congratulations to Liz and Kev on their special day!

Witney Lakes Photo Shoot May

Been a very busy month!  But we had the pleasure of providing our covers for a lovely photoshoot at Witney Lakes Resort.  They have just acquired a lovely new pagoda, to hold outdoor weddings! When we get some sunshine! But it is very pretty located by the lake!  Definately a wonderful place to hold the ceremony when the weather is fine!  Please take a look at their website www.witney-lakes.co.uk if you are interested in viewing the venue for your wedding or special event.
There's not very many places that are permitted to hold an outdoor ceremony in Oxfordshire, and this will open up more options to brides and grooms, looking for that something extra special for their big day!

Millets Farm Wedding Fair

We had a very enjoyable day at the Millets Farm Wedding Fair last week, organised by The Bridal Network team.  It was a lovely sunny day and we had about 50 new brides and grooms attending, which was very good! Met some new brides who were all excited about looking around the stands for the day, and also had a wander around the farm itself!  They do the best fruit bed in their farmshop!  If you have children, it is also a fantastic place to take them for the day!  As there are farm animals, play areas and pick your own fruit!  www.milletsfarmcentre.com

Oxford Thames Four Pillars Open Evening

Had a lovely evening at the Oxford Thames Four Pillars Open Evening.  Met some excited brides and grooms looking for their wedding venue, and also wedding decorations!  We met some lovely suppliers, like Fiona Baker Photography www.fionabaker.co.uk, Cariad Bridal www.cariad-bride.co.uk, and Balloontastic www.balloontastic.co.uk- who were all on hand to meet brides and grooms and chat with them about their big day.  Thanks for those to came along!...and thanks to Sharon at the Four Pillars for running the evening!

WOBA Awards March 2011

Okay, so finally get the time to sit down and tell you all about the WOBA Awards that we help decorate last week!  We were so pleased to be asked, as it was at a fabulous venue being Eynsham Hall www.eynshamhall.com, and also it was the first awards event of its kind for West Oxfordshire.  It was organised by the highly talented PR Company Bottle PR.  www.bottlepr.co.uk, and the brief for us was Black and White!  So we provided our black chair covers and white satin sashes for the tables, and also created tall Ostrich Feather Centrepieces, which looked amazing in the room!  You might think that these feathers would have been too tall and in the way of the proceedings of the ceremony, but when you think about it....most of the attendees are sitting down when the awards ceremony is taking place, and whilst sat down, the feathers fall above the heads, so they don't obstruct the view of the front!  But we also created some low feather centrepieces (specially commissioned for the event), so there was a good mix of heights in the room!  Once it had all been set up, the room looked amazing!  Every single person who walked through the door for the first time, went WOW.  Some people have not even seen feather centrepieces before!..so it was a total surprise to see these large palm tree style feathers on the tables!  We were pleased, and the organisers were pleased too, which is the main thing!  Everyone had a wonderful evening, and here is a list of the winners for the night, of which you can get further details from the website for WOBA. www.woba.co.uk

The winners for the categories were:-

Sadness

I'm sure everyone has seen the pictures, heard the news, and read the headlines....yet it has only just hit me now, how we all carry on our lives, going about our daily business, when across the other side of the world, there is so much tragedy and sadness, from the aftermath of the tsunami in Japan.  I've never been to Japan before, but I hope to visit one day.  It amazes me how the people of Japan are coping so well with what has happened, they don't complain, they don't fight or loot, they take it all with dignity, and quietly just get on with it.

I feel guilty that whilst we can all sit at our desks in the warmth, emailing people, tweeting every second, flicking through the telly, yawning through mundane meetings, and facebooking our lives away.... there are thousands of people's lives that have just gone.  Literally washed away. Not to mention the possible nuclear danger they face. I'm sure there are people out there who don't really care, who moan through their tv dinner that there's nothing else to watch on the news, and those who just want to know who's going out this weekend. But spare a thought- even for a second. I know we can't really do much but watch from a distance, but I really hope Japan can get all the help it needs to get the country and its people's lives back on track.  And for all those people who think they've had a "bad day" today....just think...Your day cannot be any worse than this.

Pink Pink and more Pink

Last weekend we decorated a large wedding in Oxford, and I have to say, the room was transformed! We started out with quite a bland room!...but by the end of it, with our chair covers and all the different hues of pink just made the room look beautiful!  There were pink roses, and gerberas on each table, plus our dusky pink chair sashes, and it just lifted what would have been a large and very plain room!  The bride was very pleased!  I really do think, that if a brides budget's can stretch to it, hiring chair covers and sashes, really do make a difference.  They help to brighten up a room, and also covers unsightly marks on the venue's banqueting chairs. (Believe me, there were quite afew chairs we covered for this wedding that had large stains all over the seat!)

I think the next post, we are going to make a list of what we think are the "essentials" to making your wedding or event, that bit more special.  Like a chef that has his essential ingredients list, as event stylists, we also would like to show you what our essential list of things are to create that fabulous setting! Visit us again for our ideas!

Heythrop Crowne Plaza

Whilst we were over at Heythrop Park decorating the wedding, we thought we might pop in next door, to the recent opening of Crowne Plaza hotel, which I think is a sister hotel to the original house.  Both owned by Firoka group apparently, so we just went inside for a quick coffee and showround with the lovely reservations manager there.

Honestly, the interior of the hotel looks so stunning- in that modern, glossy way. It is a total contrast to Heythrop Park the house, where one venue is all about traditional period features, high ornate ceilings and marble staircases- the other, modern interiors, clean straight lines, lots of glass, mixed with bold statement carpets and the most amazing crystal chandeliers.  Here are some pictures to show you the feel of the inside.  I especially love the cluster of lanterns hung high up above.

Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park is very well executed design/styling wise.  I am sure they will do well for a new venue.  They are already busy with showrounds booked in when we visited.  This will definately tick the boxes for the modern bride.  It will also be popular for indian weddings too, with the massive 350 + function room they have there! I guess it offers more options to the bride & groom when looking for a venue to hold the big day or corporate event. If you don't like the modernity of Crowne Plaza, then there is always the original Heythrop Park!  A little too spoilt for choice perhaps?  But see for yourself if you're ever in the area!

Wedding at Heythrop Park

January is almost whizzing by!...but we had the pleasure of decorating a lovely wedding at Heythrop Park last weekend.  The bride chose a lovely dark red colour scheme, to go with her dark red roses.  We love the ceremony room!  Full of period features, and amazing view over the green.  Here are some pics of the room after we dressed the chairs.  The weather was not too bad either on the day! Better than today- far too much drizzly grey sky! I can't wait till we get some spring sunshine!!

Happy New Year Everyone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Wow! We can't believe another year has already flo
wn by and 2011 has now begun! I took a moment to think about all the things that happened this past year, and am always amazed by the variety of things we managed to cram in! Not just weddings, but birthday parties, anniversaries, wedding fayres, charity dinners, meeting brides, organising a handmade fair, and not forgetting all the things that happen outside of the office!  It really has been a busy but rewarding year!

One person I couldn't have managed without was Josie, who has helped with many weddings and functions over the last six months! Come rain or shine, (and even abit of snow and sleet!) Josie was there to help decorate some fabulous weddings and always looks chirpy, even on an early start on cold frosty mornings!  She has some really great ideas, which I'm sure we will see more of as the new year begins!...so a big thank you to Josie!!  I must also not forget to thank my family and friends for their support and help this year.  Without them, all this would mean nothing to me.

What next?  Well, new challenges are ahead! We hope to carry on our work decorating some more beautiful weddings and functions! I hope it will be an exciting year, as we are shortly about to move into new offices, which is a HUGE step for us. (those who know me well, will know how big it really is!!!)  We are going to have a little showroom set up, with our covers, vases and other pretty things we have available to hire.  I'm sure all brides out there would love to see how their tables could look, before the big day arrives! It is always tricky to imagine every fine detail in your head of how you think it's going to look- when it is much easier to see your ideas laid out in front of you!  Our little play table will help our brides co-ordinate colours, mix and match ribbons and generally put their ideas on display and get the look they would like!  We will be hosting Open Days for brides to come and look around, and get free consultations.  It is all very exciting but also scary, as you can imagine!  Stepping out of a "warm bubble" is never easy! But I'm sure if there are any hiccups along the way, we can learn from them and make it better!  After all, we don't get it right all the time!..."you live and you learn" they say!  And this coming year will definately will be a year of learning for us!

We shall sign off now with a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.  May all your dreams come alive and true for 2011.  We hope to decorate some more beautiful venues over the next 12 months!

Best wishes to you all,
Team Isis

Ostrich Feathers at The Westbury Hotel

December has been a quieter month for us! But we still managed to provide some fabulous Ostrich Feather Centrepieces for a function at the Five Star establishment The Westbury Hotel, right in the heart of London!
The hotel was located right by Mayfair and all the designer shops!

But no time for shopping for us!  We were busy preparing 7 large centrepieces with huge Black and White feathers!  These were finished off with some led lights inside the vase, which made it look very glam! Just perfect for an evening function!  Our client were very impressed with them! Always good to receive positive feedback for the work we do!  Another big function coming up in the next couple of weeks! For a black and red themed do!  Am looking forward to it already!

Wedding Fair Oxford Four Pillars

Well, another busy weekend just gone! We covered 2 weddings with a purple coloured theme both at the same hotel!  The rooms both looked stunning, and some guests who popped their heads round to have a sneak peak beforehand, all commented how fabulous the room looked with the gorgeous purple colours!

Then it was wedding fair on the Sun 24th Oct, at Oxford Spires.  A good steady day, that went very quickly. We hope to be able to help more brides decorate their rooms for the next year!  I have a feeling that people might be tightening their belts for next year, what with the vat going up and everything costing that little bit more!  But we feel that chair covers really do complete the look, and is also a cost effective way to decorate and glam up a room for a special occasion like a wedding, but without splashing out too much.  Hope all the other exhibitors at the fair also had a good day!  Will be booking on to some more fairs next year!....details will be updated soon!

Charity Dinner @ The Randolph Hotel Oxford

Isis Chair Covers were honoured to take part in a charity dinner held at The Randolph Hotel in Oxford to raise money for the Oxford Association for the Blind. http://www.oxeyes.org.uk  We like to do our part every year, and help with the styling for local charitable events and this year we helped decorated a vast space that is The Ballroom within this five star rated hotel!  The theme was Black and White!  So we provided Black Chair Covers, tied with White Satin Sashes to add some more colour to the tables! There were 180 guests attending, including the guest speak- one our locals!..Mr Colin Dexter!  A fun night was had by all, and we hope it raised a large sum to help for this amazing charity! Here is a pic of the room!....it looked very glam indeed!

Eynsham Hall Wedding

This weekend has been busy again!..with a wedding fair at The Randolph Hotel, but we also did a beautiful indian wedding at Eynsham Hall http://www.eynshamhall.com.  It was a smaller more intimate affair than a previous indian wedding we covered for, but still just as striking, with vibrant Burnt Orange and Hot Pink colours to theme the day!  Here are some pics!  Congratulations to Noor and Ash!

Designer Wedding Show London Battersea

Designer Wedding Show @ Battersea Park London

We were lucky enough to win some tickets to see the Designer Wedding Show in London last week! We went to see it on the opening day, as we thought it might be less busy, and plus the fact we were busy with weddings of our own at the weekend, so we went along to see what was on offer on the Friday!  Some of the suppliers were AMAZING.  The flowers there were totally extravagant, rich with colour and abit OTT, but still the floral displays were just stunning.  We saw the Catwalk show too! Front row seats!! Which was pretty cool, and I thought the little flower girls were the best models down that catwalk! :-)  There were some gorgeous stationery designers, and beautiful designer dresses!  It was really good to have a look round to see what other suppliers are doing out there- and we feel much more inspired coming away with some new fresh ideas!  ONLY DOWNSIDE, was that we're not allowed to take pics of the show!  Not even being around the show, so I took afew sneeky pics!  They're not the best shots but you can see a snippet of what was there!  But really, this show is probably for those brides who have a much larger budget than average!  As beautiful as everything looked, it does come at a price- and if you can afford it! Why not!..it's your one and only big day after all!

The Randolph Hotel Wedding Fair Sun 19th October

Although it didn't plan to be a busy week this week!...it has somehow got filled with things to do!!  One of the main things is the Macdonald Randolph Wedding Fair this Sunday, which is organised by Perfect Days Weddings.  http://www.perfectdays.info  The fair starts from 11am-4pm, and is FREE ENTRY to everyone!

Not sure how we are going to display our table this time round, as we now offer so many different things to our brides, that there isn't enough space to show everything!  But we will probably have a few chairs displayed, with some new season colour sashes, plus afew floral decorations too, to complete the look.  Saturday night is a staying in night for me then!!!  Must remember flyers!!...but if you have a Sunday free, and would like to wander around the fair!  Please do visit us and the other wonderful suppliers- from photographers to cake makers, and also a very professional wedding fashion show!  Oh and not forgetting the goody bags!!

The Ballrooom at The Randolph Hotel

Recommendations! People we love to tell you about!

Having been established for over 4 years now!  We decided that we are going to write a snippet about some of our favourite people who we have met along the way!  This will be on our HomePage, and will change once a month or longer! There have been so many people who have been supportive in what we do, and I don't think I can really thank them enough, and this is our way of thanking them, so that we can tell all potential brides out there, who we think will definately offer the best service!

Believe me, over these last few years, we have met some not so nice suppliers out there- we particularly dislike those who are caked in and smothered in fine fakery, who try to put you down and they know who they are!!  Their own websites say it all!  Just because you've done afew weddings at a certain palace-doesn't make you any better than anyone else! Get off that high horse of yours we say!! And make way for the genuinely good people out there!......

Recommendations to follow!  Starting next week!

Eynsham Hall Open Day Sun 3rd October 2010

We had the pleasure of exhibiting our chair covers at the Wedding Open Day at Eynsham Hall today!  The weather was not the best, though it wasn't as bad as it was predicted by the weather men/ladies!  These open days are always popular and a gives a great opportunity for new brides and grooms to look for their venue!...or even just for those who want to have a look around the hall and grounds! It was a good day, and hopefully all the visitors had something to take away with them!

There were some stunning floral centrepieces provided by: http://www.faithinflowers.co.uk

and http://www.balloonlady.co.uk, plus some delicious sweetie centrepieces by http://www.soireedelights.co.uk
For more info on the venue, please visit http://www.eynshamhall.com

Hope everyone had fabulous weekends!....

New Review!

Ah!..Just received another fantastic feedback from a recent bride of ours!  We love receiving these and so pleased to hear we did a great job for her!  Here's the link if you like to take a gander!

Wonder if we will get any more this week!?....

Busy Busy!

Hello!

And another mad weekend of weddings done and dusted!  Can't believe we managed to get through them all!...but still great to see each and every single wedding we have covered, are all unique in their own way!

We had a Teal themed wedding, with peacock feather table decorations, and an antique gold themed wedding in a traditional style!....followed by a bright and bubbly Hot Pink gerbera inspired wedding!  Will uploads some pics later on here and Twitter!

But congratulations to our all brides over the weekend!....

Peachy Perfect!

Just had to write a snippet about the beautiful indian wedding we decorated during the Aug bank hols weekend! It was a big event!..with 360 guests attending!  The wedding styling was not traditionally indian, but with english and indian touches which we think look beautiful! The marriage of east meets west!

The venue was Heythrop Park.  The stylish bride had chosen a big ivory coloured marquee, and to create the look she was after, we decorated the vast blank space with colour!!... with ivory tablecloths matched with ivory chair covers.  The dominant colour theme was peach- and we used sparkly peach sashes tied on the chairs, with matching peach table runners on each round table.  The centre pieces were created by the talented Broadway Florist http://www.broadway-florist.com who created stunning martini vase arrangements with peach coloured roses and lilies.  They also made large flower balls that were hung up in the marquee!  The transformation was amazing- from a blank canvas of a vast white space, within several hours it had turned into a beautiful, warm space, filled with the wonderful scent of all those lilies!  It was one of the best weddings we have decorated so far!  It was hard work for our team!....but it was well worth it, to see the end result!  We hope to do more large scale events like this!...and the most important thing is that the bride & groom had the most fantastic day!..and the sun even shone!

Let's Dance!....

Over the weekend, I met someone who hires out digital jukeboxes! Basically, the jukebox plays whatever music you request without the usual need for inserting any money!  Almost like a DIY DJ!

Over the last 2 years, I have noticed that brides/grooms are opting more for diy music over the traditional dj, with the use of a plugging in a simple ipod, and creating their own playlists, which is a really good idea as it saves abit of money, and you play only what you want to listen to!   So I met a guy who runs www.digitaljukeboxhire.co.uk.

This digital jukebox is something similar to your own dj! There are thousands of songs on there for your guests to choose from! You may like rock!?.. maybe your guests like abit of r'n'b, or maybe abit of pop!...or like I me!... a large dose of cheese!!  This digital jukebox would suit nearly every pair of dancing feet on the floor!

Fabulous Flowers

Another busy weekend of weddings!...and I can't thank Josie enough for her help last weekend with the marathon of weddings we did!  All of them were different themes and colours!..it was lovely to see each one all set up!  We did a particularly pretty wedding at Eynsham Hall on Sunday www.eynshamhall.com, where the bride had a pink and orchid theme wedding.  The weather was lovely and sunny too!!  She chose Baby Pink sashes for her chair covers, and had the most beautiful orchid arrangements with cute paper lanterns, all provided by the talented Fabulous Flowers in Oxford. www.fabulousflowers.biz

Downs and Ups

We covered a lastminute wedding the other weekend, as the bride had been let down by another local chair cover company!  The bride called up in a panic, and was so happy when we said we could help her out! Even with only a week to go!  They had a lovely Hot Pink theme- one of mine and my colleague's favourite colours!..it was just fitting for a summer wedding!..and she even had lots of sunshine on the day!  Goes to show that things always comes up trumps in the end!...no matter how bad you think it was at the time! Congratulations to the bride and groom!

Feathers!

We set up a fab 50th party in Ardington over the weekend!  It was a Hollywood themed do, mainly using black and gold colours!  We set up our huge ostrich centrepieces using large black and white feathers!  The room was transformed!..especially with our chair covers and matching gold table runners.  Everyone had a fab time!....more pics on the gallery!  The venue is called Loyd Lindsay Rooms, who have had a refurb recently, and is a lovely venue for parties or meetings- the catering is done by Smiths, who have a little cafe/shop in the heart of the village!  Please contact Karen there, if you are interested in holding your event there!

Jamie and Becky's Wedding

Sorry!..have really neglected the blogging these last few months, but only because it has been very busy!..and I just don't have the time to blog!  But I thought I would add a snippet about my friend's wedding last weekend!  It was so lovely to be at a wedding as a guest for a change!!..rather than for work!  But, we did help out with some covers and floral arrangements!....and here are some pics to show you!  They chose a beautiful little barn near Evesham called The Fleece, and the day was just beautiful!  Becky looked gorgeous and walked down the aisle with an OWL! (Yes!..an actual Owl..a beautiful barn owl called Flannel!), Jamie looked dapper, good food and good weather!...it was truly perfect!  It's days like these, that really remind me of how much I enjoy what I do!...as the day is filled with happy people, and the setting really makes it all so memorable for everyone! Aww!

Mario, Mario, wherefore art thou Mario!?....

www.immage.co.uk

Did I ever mention about Mario who I met afew years ago at a wedding fair?...I bumped into him again at the latest wedding fair we attended at Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel last Sunday, and thought I would give him a shout out!....Mario takes beautiful wedding photos, that really capture your wedding day, in a contemporary but natural way. Mario's work uses clever lighting and contemporary angles, which really brings the image to life!...and makes the picture so much more interesting than a standard traditional pose!

There are so many photographers to choose from- each with their own style of photography, and finding the right one to suit you can take abit of time and research!....but please do take a look at his work and see if his style fits in yours!...........www.immage.co.uk

Eynsham Hall Wedding Open Day 31st May 2010

www.eynshamhall.com

Just to let you know about the Wedding Open Day at Eynsham Hall in May!  Another chance for new brides to wander round, take a look at the stunning venue!...or for those who just like to visit the place!  They have beautiful grounds, and it's a lovely place to stay for a weekend break or have a wedding or function there!  Hopefully, the weather will be better than today!  When will the this rain stop!?....We need some sunshine!!

Don't Forget to watch Brides on a Bus!

As you know, we had the honour of providing covers at Eynsham Hall for the TV show Brides on A Bus, showing on WeddingTV.  Next week, the Eynsham Hall episode will be screened!...If you have the time, do try and catch it!!  Eynsham Hall is one of the loveliest wedding venues in Oxfordshire, so it will be a good chance to see the grandeur of the place, even without visiting it!

Purple Wedding

We are back from holiday and the office is open again after closing for a week!  Tough getting back into the swing of things again, when we spent nearly every day on a beach in hot, hot weather!!  But heh!..must get back into it!..and so we did!..with a lovely purple wedding at the Randolph the other weekend!  The bride chose a gorgeous dark purple colour, which looked lovely in the room!  I love the colour purple!...and it seems to be a popular colour choice this year!..(along with pink, which is always seems to be popular!)

Wedding Open Day at Eynsham Hall Sun 28th Feb

Just wanted to mention the Eynsham Hall wedding fair on Sun 28th!  I think there are afew wedding fairs going on the same day, but if you do have time to visit, please do have a wander around!  Even for a little stroll round the gardens for those not getting married!  The weather was quite pleasant today, so am hoping it will be the same tomorrow!  There will be stunning floral arrangements by Melanie at Faith in Flowers based in Witney too!  Lovely lady, and she does gorgeous table arrangements, that we've seen at afew weddings!
If you have time to visit Eynsham Hall, it's Sun 28th Feb from 11am-4pm.  Have a lovely day!...

Wedding at Phyllis Court

Last weekend, we also have the privilege to cover a wedding at Phyllis Court.  The bride chose crystal organza chair wraps, and the room just looked lovely!...shame the florist hadn't yet delivered her flowers at that time, but the room looks so pretty, just with the twinkly fairy lights!  I love fairy lights!...lighting really does add ambience to a large room!...and gives it that extra special touch, especially when the evening draws
i
n!  Another lovely wedding!...

The show begins!....

On a much happier note!...Wedding TV has confirmed that the new series called Bride on a Bus will be aired from Monday 15th February 2010!  Catch the first episode to see what it's about!

We were so thrilled to have been asked by Eynsham Hall to provide our chair covers for the day!  It was fun to see the room transform into something stunning!...You should see the floral arrangements by Riche De Fleur!  Very modern and definately provided that WOW factor!

Not a Happy Bunny...

Now I don't usually get mad, but when I do...I feel the need to let it out!!  (Better than keeping it in right!?)
I had the misfortune of coming across a new start up chair cover company, who is basically using some dirty tactics to get themselves some business!! Now, I have no problem with more competition- far from it! But the way this other company are going about it....in my opinion, is totally underhand!  I won't go into details of who they are, though I believe they are based in Thame......but let's just say, should our paths cross in the future, they will not be receiving a warm welcome from me or my team!!  Personally, I don't rate highly of companies who don't even have any of their own work to show on their website- yet claim they are the preferred suppliers to most wedding venues!? Clearly something not quite adding up there!!  But that's just me!
Really- sometimes it shocks me just how low people will go, to better themselves!?  Now I truly know the meaning of "its a dog-eat-dog world"!!
Rant over!....I think I need a cuppa tea and some chocolate.  (Breathe...and now count to 10.....)

First Wedding Fair of the year....

And so the wedding fair season begins again!...This time kicking off at Eynsham Hall, which is one of the nicest venues in Oxfordshire. There were alot of new brides coming through today, very busy generally all day...and I hope everyone found something for their wedding!!
I always enjoy taking part in wedding fairs, as it's a chance to meet the brides in person, and also lovely to catch up with other suppliers in the business!..(esp the cake people, as they always have cake tasters for us to sample!! Yum!!)  Unfortunately, I totally forgot to take any pics, because it was so busy!....but if we do another fair later in the year, I will make sure to take some to show you how a day at a wedding fair progresses!

Will be possibly doing another wedding fair at some point....so please come back and check for details!

What's new for 2010?....

Well, a brand new decade begins! Where did 2009 go!? It has come and gone so quickly!  I am very fortunate that our little business is still here, since I know 2009 may have been hard for many people out there, with redundancies in lots of places, and not to forget those well established brands that we grew up with like Woolies, that are no more!  Which makes me feel lucky every day to know that we are still doing something we enjoy!

So what will 2010 bring for us?....
Well, there will be afew new things we are adding to our services.

One of whi
ch will be some new satin sashes, and secondly, the addition of some new table centrepieces.

We are going to introduce some floral alternative centrepieces,  which I think would be great for those who prefer not to choose fresh flowers for their tables, which can be used for weddings or special events.  They are currently in the process of being made and tweaked here and there, and once they are finished, I will be adding  some pictures to the site!

Thanks to my friends and family for their support for another year!  I don't think I could manage it all without you! :-)...I hope 2010 will bring us more good things, and
in the meantime, I want to wish you all a wonderful New Year filled with good health, peace and prosperity! A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Another year has gone!...doesn't time fly when you're having fun!?  I can't believe we have now moved into a new decade!  It doesn't seem that long ago when I finished uni, but that was now 9 years ago!!...and now married with a little monster- oops...I mean angel!!  I hope everyone had a fantastic christmas break and saw in the year new in style, whether in a pub or indoors!

We had our annual Secret Santa giving amongst my closest friends just before christmas, and I was totally stuck for ideas as to what to buy for my "receiver"!  But I knew my friend had a sweet tooth, and never turns down a pretty cake!...so I asked Cathy at The Cupcake Baker to create me afew cupcakes as her Secret Santa gift! The cupcakes smelt delicious (was very tempted to eat one but had to hold back!!!)...and were a mixture of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, with christmassy coloured icings!! So gorgeous!!! Anyway, basically they went down extremely well!....and unsurprisingly, she guessed who had arranged these little delights, as it was "so me" apparently!  I am so predictable.....but I do love a good cake! :-)  Here's a pic of the cakes!....and a definate thumbs up!

Birthday at The Ashmolean!

Had a fantastic birthday celebration at the weekend at Oxford's new Roof Top Restaurant at the Ashmolean Museum!W: www.ashmoleandiningroom.com

Wedding at Lains Barn

We covered a lovely wedding at Lains Barn last weekend!  Haven't been there for awhile, so it was nice to go back and do a wedding there!  Bride had lovely classic colour of ivory and green- the florist created stunning wedding flower balls that hang high in the beams of the barn!  Totally gorgeous!!

Fabulous Flowers Indeedy!

We were lucky enough to cover a wedding at Four Pillars Sandford on Thames last weekend, and I must admit I do love the burgundy/dark red colour!  It just looks lovely and romantic!  After all, red is the colour of love!  But whilst I was there, I saw some amazing pedestals created by the wonderful peeps at Fabulous Flowers in Oxford!  They were very sculptured in style, and looked almost like peacocks! Pics below!  They were so original too, as I had never seen pedestals done this way before!  But definately a wow- for those guests entering the room!  Lovely work yet again, Fabulous Flowers!!

Yummy Yummy Cupcakes!!
